This introductory course integrates two of the most effective methods for optimizing processes: Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and the development of a Change Leader mindset.
Our mindsets are shaped by both empowering and limiting beliefs that significantly influence our actions and inactions when leading change in the workplace. We help uncover these beliefs and bridge the gap, empowering participants to becoming more effective and successful change leaders.
The map depicts a visual representation of the flow of work and information in a process from start to finish. This enables businesses to identify inefficiencies, waste and opportunities for improvement by analyzing both value-added and non-value-added activities. Optimizing the process enhances delivery to both internal and external customers, while reducing time and increasing efficiency.
Common improvements achieved through VSM focus on enhancing quality, optimizing delivery and reducing costs:
-reduced lead time (the total time it takes for a product/service to move through the entire process)
-reduced bottlenecks (smoother transition between process steps)
-elimination of activities/steps that add no value
-more effective communication and coordination between steps
-decreased defects
-reduced inventory
This dual approach equips participants with the strategic improvement tools while fostering personal growth, enabling them to lead process changes and operate within an improved process at the end of 8 weeks.

-Identifying inefficiencies in current state
-Prioritizing improvement strategies
-Creating implementation plan and estimating projected benefits
-Implementation and monitoring progress
-Understanding how current beliefs are empowering and limiting
-Becoming aware of limiting beliefs about being a successful change leader
-Deciding on and embodying new empowering beliefs
-Taking aligned action with a transformed mindset
-Training duration is 8 weeks, aligned with the pace necessary to effectively map a process, execute steps to implement improvements and develop a change leader identity
-Training is delivered in live online, one-hour sessions, twice per week, and is recorded for rewatching or those unable to attend the scheduled training. Expect to dedicate at least an equal amount of time applying training materials in the workplace as you do participating in the live online sessions
-Coaching/Q&A one-hour sessions are offered twice per week to support the application of the training learnings by answering questions and providing assistance
-You are a Supervisor/Manager/Team Leader/etc. who is responsible for the performance of a repeatable process
-You are new to process improvement or have little formal training in it
-You recognize the importance in both personal and professional development and the impact is has on your results
-You are excited to learn new concepts and are committed to dedicating time to apply them
